auto

The name for this song, "auto", comes from the way it just automatically came out of me when I wrote it on the guitar. There are no lead tracks or melodies in this one but the rhythem guitar part is played with poly-chords so it sounds like it has a melodie of sorts. The bass line is played on the Fender Jazz bass and it carries the changes pretty well with a lot of walking lines. The drums were laid down with the Roland 808 rhythem machine. The guitar part is played with the 22 fret, neck-thru body, Jackson Kelly in the bridge pickup position, first thru the bbe sonic maximizer, then I give it a tight compresson envelope, and last into the Marshall with the gain knob turned all the way up. The Marshall is plugged directly into the mixing board via the low output stereo jacks wich I feel sacrifices some tone but the noise level had to be kept low where I recorded at so I decided to forego the speakers. I feel it is has a semi-pop feel and I hope you enjoy it.The player to the right will play the songs for you to listen to now, or follow the link below the player to download the files in .mp3 format for future listining.
